MANILA, Philippines — Amid allegations of receiving kickbacks from anomalous flood control projects, Education Secretary Sonny Angara has gained the support of the Philippine Elementary School Principals Association.

The PESPA said it supports Angara “as he leads the Department of Education (DepEd) toward meaningful, transformative and learner-centered reforms.”

The group asserted its readiness to collaborate with the DepEd in implementing reforms, especially in curriculum enhancement, teacher development, digital innovation, strengthened governance and child-focused learning environments.

“With Angara at the helm of the DepEd, we remain optimistic that the vision for a brighter, more resilient and future-ready education system will be realized,” the group said.
