MANILA, Philippines — Cloudy skies and scattered rainshowers are expected to prevail over parts of Southern Tagalog and the Visayas in the next few days due to the shear line, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.
PAGASA said the northeast monsoon will continue to affect the northern and central sections of the country.
In a weather forecast issued at 4 p.m. on Thursday, PAGASA said the shear line would affect Bicol and Eastern Visayas as well as Laguna, Marinduque, Quezon and Romblon.
Aside from cloudy skies and scattered rains, these areas will experience isolated thunderstorms.
“Moderate to at times heavy rainfall may trigger flash floods or landslides in these areas,” PAGASA said.
Meanwhile, Cagayan Valley and Aurora will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the monsoon.
Ilocos, the Cordilleras and the rest of Central Luzon and Calabarzon as well as Metro Manila will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.
The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.
PAGASA said no low-pressure area has been monitored in and outside the Philippine area of responsibility.
