Track, intensity

Wilma is expected to maintain a west-southwestward track until Saturday, December 6, before shifting to a more westerly direction for the rest of the forecast period.

Based on its current trajectory, the tropical depression may make its initial landfall or pass close over Eastern Visayas or Dinagat Islands between Friday evening and early Saturday morning.

It is projected to cross the Visayas through Sunday, December 7, and emerge over the Sulu Sea before potentially passing over northern Palawan by Monday morning, December 8.

While a slight intensification is possible before landfall, PAGASA said Wilma is expected to remain a tropical depression throughout its passage. Further strengthening may occur once it reaches the West Philippine Sea.
