THE provincial government of Northern Samar, through the Office of the Sangguniang Kabataan Provincial Federation led by Board Member Gerardo Miranda, provided 24 sets of desktop computers to Sangguniang Kabataan Councils across various municipalities in the province.
These IT support initiatives are intended to improve office operations and service delivery to young Nortehanons.
"We provided computers to the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) councils in Northern Samar to help them become more effective and efficient in their work, especially since some of the councils or SK Presidents didn't have the proper equipment to create their reports and programs," Miranda said in a statement on Monday.
"We would also like to express our gratitude to Governor Edwin Ongchuan for his support in the development of each of our councils," he added.
The computers were personally handed to the recipients on Friday at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Lounge by Miranda and Provincial Youth Development officer Kirstine Anne Tobes.

The recipients of the computer units are 20 SK councils and federations from various villages and municipalities in Northern Samar, including the SK Federations of Gamay, Palapag, Victoria, Rosario, Capul, Laoang, Lavezares, San Vicente, Bobon, Lapinig, San Jose, and Mapanas, as well as the SK Councils of different villages in Catarman, San Roque, Allen, Las Navas, and Rosario.
Clint Sarad, president of the SK Federation of Victoria, emphasized the importance of computers in their office operations and the community.
"This is a big help to our federation, especially to our office, as we can now more easily comply with the reports required by the province," Sarad said.
The provincial government, Ongchuan said in his previous statement, remains dedicated to promoting youth development projects and recognizes their critical role in nation-building.
