MANILA, Philippines — Speculations about BTS' concert venue in the Philippines next year are being stoked once more following a remark by an SM executive.

SM Prime Holdings held a media briefing last Tuesday, April 28, after its annual stockholders' meeting when one executive asked company president Jeffrey Lim for his comments on talks about the SMDC Festival Grounds being considered for a major K-pop concert in 2027.

"I think that deal is done already and they will be performing in the open grounds of SMDC," Lim answered, referring to the large space in Parañaque owned by the company.

Before Lim could give any indication that the K-pop act would be BTS, the briefing shifted to primary business topics.

The SMDC Festival Grounds has hosted numerous music acts like Ed Sheeran, the Eraserheads, Rivermaya, Ben&Ben, and most recently, SB19.

Given the immense production anticipated for BTS' "Arirang" world tour, the group's first in four years, fans have theorized that the Parañaque site would best suit BTS' needs.

Earlier this month, Rhiza Pascua, managing director of Live Nation Philippines, the show promoter who will bring BTS here for the first time in a decade, shut down false information that an official venue or ticket selling have already been set.

"We are aware of false information circulating online regarding our event. The venue being mentioned is incorrect. Also, claims of 'VIP tickets' already in circulation are false. No tickets have been released or printed," Pascua said, with the mentioned venue being the SMDC Festival Grounds.

BTS is currently slated to end their "Arirang" world tour on March 13 and 14, 2027 in Manila, where the venues remain unannounced.
