MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang has declared special non-working days in several areas in the country for the commemoration of local anniversaries and festivals this month.

Based on a statement recently released by the Office of the Executive Secretary, Feb. 10 was declared a special non-working day in Talisay, Batangas and Laoag City, Ilocos Norte through Proclamations 1152 and 1154, respectively.

Talisay will mark its founding anniversary, while Laoag City will celebrate the Pamulinawen Festival.

Proclamation 1153 declared Feb. 11 a special non-working day in Iriga, Camarines Sur for the celebration of the Tinagba Festival.

The Palace also declared Feb. 17 a special non-working day in Padre Burgos, Quezon through Proclamation 1155 for the commemoration of Padre Burgos Day.

A special non-working day will be observed in Bayawan City, Negros Oriental on Feb. 18 as provided under Proclamation 1150, to allow residents to participate in the Tawo-Tawo Festival.

Feb. 19 was declared a special non-working day in Bago, Negros Occidental through Proclamation 1156, allowing residents to participate in activities marking the city’s 60th charter anniversary.

Proclamation 1149 also declared Feb. 26 a special non-working day in Zamboanga City for the commemoration of the city’s 89th charter anniversary.

Feb. 28 will be a special non-working day in Tanza, Cavite, as provided under Proclamation 1148 for the celebration of the 112th Araw ng Tanza.
