THE Social Security System (SSS) in Luzon Central 2 (LC2) Division announced it has collected P6 billion in 2024 from on-time payments.

On Friday, 65 branches of the SSS-LC2 Division conducted a simultaneous Run Against Contribution Evaders (RACE) campaign to target delinquent employers who continue to fail to meet their obligations to the said agency.

SSS Malolos Branch led by Gloria Corazon Andrada, vice president, SSS-LC2, together with Chelin Lea Nabong, acting branch head, and lawyer Faith Anrao of the SSS Operations Legal Office led the RACE campaign and visited 16 employers in Malolos City.

According to Andrada, their collection from SSS-LC2 reached P6 billion which included P5.7 billion from on-time payments of the current contribution collection while the rest are collection from delinquent employers which is P288.78 million from January to December of 2024.

According to Nabong, from 16 delinquent employers in the jurisdiction of SSS Malolos, up to P10.8 million should be collected from them, which should directly benefit about 204 employees.

She said the 16 delinquent employers visited include one manufacturing, two grocery shops, six restaurants, five services and one school with unremitted contributions and others are nonregistered.

According to Anrao, the delinquent employers being pursued violated Republic Act 11199, Sec. 22(a) in relation to Section 22(b) and 28(e) or noncompliance of SSS Law.

On May 1, 2025, an employer was arrested and temporarily detained in connection with a violation of the SSS Law but was released after posting bail and paying his unpaid contribution of P200,000.

Andrada said that the SSS is persistent and determined to pursue delinquent employers who do not pay their obligations for their workers or employees.

"The RACE campaign is being conducted by the SSS so that we can ensure that our employers comply and meet their obligations as stated in RA 11199," Andrada said.

SSS-LC2 covers 65 branches, including six in the province of Bulacan, three in Pampanga and one in Olongapo.
