CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — A man accused of killing his stepson and attempting to kill his wife was arrested in Lubao town in this province on Saturday.
It took around 36 hours for the law enforcement of Region 3 (Central Luzon) to track down the suspect, identified only as alias "Harold."
The suspect was taken into custody after the brutal attack on the victims late in the afternoon of April 3.
Lubao Municipal Police Station, Pampanga Police Intelligence Unit and Pampanga SWAT launched a relentless pursuit in Barangay San Roque Dau 1st in Lubao, their effort dragging on to around 12:30 p.m. on April 4.
Inside the home of a certain "Ronald," the suspect's uncle, the pursuing authorities found "Harold" in hiding.

His uncle, who had attempted to shield him from capture, was also arrested for obstruction of justice.
When officers searched the suspect's belongings, they discovered a hand grenade and two mobile phones.
Police said with evidence in hand, "Harold" will be facing charges for homicide and attempted homicide in relation to Republic Act (RA) 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act, and RA 9516, or the Illegal Possession of Firearms, Ammunition and Explosives Act.
Police Regional Office 3 (PRO-3) regional director Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo commended the swift and decisive work of the operating units, emphasizing their relentless pursuit of justice.
"The rapid capture of 'Harold' speaks volumes about our commitment to protecting the people and bringing criminals to justice — fast and without compromise," said Fajardo.
"Violent crimes leave deep scars on families and communities, and we will not rest until those responsible are held accountable. This operation is a testament to the dedication and skill of our men and women in uniform," added Fajardo.
With the suspect in custody, the Pampanga Police and PRO-3 reaffirm their commitment to justice, safety and the relentless pursuit of criminals, ensuring law and order will always prevail in Central Luzon.
