Catch these restored Filipino classics on the big screen for a limited time this June!

MANILA, Philippines – If you’ve always wanted to watch restored classic Filipino films on the big screen, now’s your chance!

In celebration of Pride Month this June, T-Bird at Ako (1982) and Mga Anak ni Facifica Falayfay (1987) will be returning exclusively to select Ayala Malls cinemas until June 10.

T-Bird at Ako — which is topbilled by icons Vilma Santos and the late National Artist Nora Aunor — sees lawyer Sylvia Salazar grow enamored by a dancer named Sabel. When the latter is accused of homicide after killing the son of a rich tycoon, Sylvia takes on her case, all while the lines of their relationship begin to blur. This film is directed by Danny Zialcita and written by Portia Ilagan.

Meanwhile, Mga Anak ni Facifica Falayfay sees Facifica, a gay man, return to heterosexuality as he marries Ligaya and becomes the father of three children: Eric, Rolly, and Rodrigo. When Ligaya dies, however, Rodrigo makes a stunning realization about his own sexuality.

Directed by Romy Villaflor, Mga Anak ni Facifica Falayfay stars Dolphy, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Eric Quizon, Rolly Quizon, and Roderick Paulate.

As of this writing, both films are only available for viewing at Ayala Malls Market! Market! in Taguig City. Tickets are priced at P160 for students and P180 for regular tickets, and may be purchased via sureseats.com.

The screening of these two films is part of Ayala Malls Cinemas and ABS-CBN Film Archives and Restoration‘s “A-Rewind” initiative, where the two work to put restored classics back on the big screen for the benefit of Filipino moviegoers. The partnership began in March, the same month ABS-CBN Film Restoration officially ended its 14-year run.

Over the course of ABS-CBN’s Sagip Pelikula project, more than 200 films were given new life — allowing the current generation to enjoy these cinematic masterpieces themselves.

According to Ayala Malls Cinemas, more restored Filipino classics will be screened “in the next few months.” – Rappler.com
