The Tacurong City government marked the opening of its candy-themed Inugyunay Festival with a ceremonial lighting of the City Hall grounds on December 10, ushering in the city’s Christmas celebrations, which concluded on December 23.
Mayor Lina Montilla led the lights-on ceremony, together with city officials and residents.
In her message, she encouraged Tacurongnons to take part in the festivities and celebrate the holiday season with their families and friends.
The Inugyunay Festival featured a series of activities that ran throughout the celebration, including the Christmas Candy Village competition, Inugyonights, movie nights, Eats Inugyunay showcasing 22 local concessionaires and the Christmas Ride Contest, among other community-centered events.
The festival once again proved to be one of the most anticipated Christmas attractions in Region 12.
“Inugyunay,” a Hiligaynon term meaning “get together” or “unite,” is Tacurong’s annual thanksgiving celebration held every December.
The festival was known for its vibrant holiday displays, decorated trees, illuminated buildings and festive streets, symbolizing unity and togetherness within the community.
