Organized by the Philippine Dental Association (PDA) Laguna Chapter, this fun run set on Feb. 11, at Santa Rosa Business Park, Laguna, aims to inspire healthier habits and celebrate the 21st National Dental Health Month (NDHM) in style.

Organized in partnership with Colgate-Palmolive Philippines Inc. and Haleon Philippines Inc., the fun run highlights this year's NDHM theme, "Brushing ang Key, sa Ngiping Healthy."

It aims to emphasize the role of daily oral hygiene in improving overall health and well-being.

"Good oral hygiene is a cornerstone of overall health. Through this fun run, we want to bring people together to raise awareness about the importance of regular brushing, proper oral care, and how small, consistent habits can lead to a lifetime of healthier smiles," PDA Laguna Chapter President Lynley Guevarra-Kerger told The Manila Times reporter Franco Baroña.

The event caters to participants of all ages and fitness levels with multiple race categories.

Each participant will receive race kits that include t-shirts and medals, and top finishers will be awarded prizes.

Beyond the race, the event will feature free dental check-ups, educational booths, and interactive activities to further promote the importance of oral health.

Participants will also learn about initiatives such as Colgate's Bright Smiles, Bright Futures program, which focuses on oral health education for children.

"Many people underestimate the impact of oral health on their overall well-being. Brushing your teeth twice a day, flossing, and visiting your dentist regularly can prevent many health issues. This event is a way to remind our community that oral hygiene is not just about aesthetics; it's about health," Guevarra-Kerger said.

The fun run is part of a larger series of activities for the 21st NDHM, which also includes free dental consultations, oral health education talks, and a ceremonial opening led by PDA leaders and partners.

"This is not just a race; it's a celebration of health and unity. We want families, individuals, and even young children to come together, have fun, and learn something valuable about oral care. By taking part, you're also contributing to community dental programs that help those in need," the PDA Laguna Chapter president concluded.
