THE Art House serves as a platform for Philippine creatives, cultural exchange, and community engagement, bringing together nine visual artists from the Philippine diaspora. Jana Benitez (US), Rose Cameron (US), Kim Cruz (US), Lizza May David (Germany), John Wayne Forte (US), Marissa Gonzalez (Switzerland), Rasco Jugarap (Belgium), Kulay Labitingan (UK), and Jaclyn Reyes (US) reflect on the life and works of modernist painter Nena Saguil.
Titled "Lakbay: Voyages into the Absolute with Nena Saguil," the exhibition aims to present fresh yet resonant perspectives on the local art scene. Taking place during National Arts Month, the show runs from Feb. 8 to 10 at Discovery Primea, featuring Saguil's pioneering cosmic abstractions alongside new works by nine international Filipino artists who share her diasporic experience.
"I've always been an avid collector of Nena Saguil's works. For Art Month, we wanted to bring something new, bridging artists and audiences through untold stories," says Art House founder and CEO Carlo Pineda.
Beyond a showcase, Lakbay fosters cultural exchange, engaging both artists and collectors in an open, inclusive community. A portion of proceeds benefits the Nena Saguil Foundation.
