Retroid has officially unveiled the Pocket Flip 2, its latest clamshell gaming handheld, introducing significant enhancements over its predecessor.

The Pocket Flip 2 maintains its signature foldable design but now features a larger 5.5-inch AMOLED display with a 1080p resolution and a peak brightness of 500 nits, offering vibrant visuals for gaming on the go.

Under the hood, the device offers two processor options: a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 or a MediaTek Dimensity 1100, both delivering substantial performance improvements over the previous model’s Unisoc T618. The Flip 2 is equipped with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage, ensuring faster load times and efficient multitasking.  The handheld is powered by a 5,000mAh battery. Notably, the Snapdragon variant supports 27W fast charging, while the Dimensity model is limited to 18W.

Retroid has updated the port layout by replacing the microHDMI port with a USB-C DisplayPort output, enabling 1080p 60Hz external display support. The device retains a microSD card slot for expandable storage and a 3.5mm headphone jack for wired audio. Connectivity has been enhanced with support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.
The Pocket Flip 2 runs on Android 13, providing improved performance, security, and compatibility with the latest applications and emulators.

The device will be available in various color options, including GC, Ice Blue, Black, and 16BIT US. Pricing and availability details have yet to be announced.  Retroid’s Pocket Flip 2 aims to deliver a more powerful and versatile gaming experience, building upon the foundation set by its predecessor.
