The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) said the suspension was issued pending investigation for possible violation of franchise conditions and safety regulations.

MANILA, Philippines — Twenty-four buses of the North Genesis Bus Line Inc. have been suspended for 30 days in connection with a vehicular accident in Baguio City that killed a bus conductor and injured six others.
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) said the suspension was issued pending investigation for possible violation of franchise conditions and safety regulations.
The bus was headed to Baguio City when it crashed into a truck parked along Marcos Highway at dawn on Tuesday.
LTFRB Chairman Vigor Mendoza II gave assurance that an impartial investigation would be conducted on the matter.
In a show-cause order, the LTFRB directed the transport company to subject all its drivers to a drug test and their buses to an inspection for roadworthiness.
The agency asked the company to explain in writing why it should not be sanctioned for hiring a reckless driver.
Mendoza said that the license plates of all suspended buses must be surrendered to ensure compliance with the order.
He directed LTFRB officials to help expedite the release of insurance payment to the family of the fatality as well as to injured passengers.
Mendoza advised public utility vehicle operators and drivers to help promote road safety, saying the trust and confidence of the riding public must be reciprocated with a safe travel.
