MANILA, Philippines — Television host and model Marc Nelson addressed speculation surrounding his involvement in the ongoing legal battle between former beauty queen Maggie Wilson and her estranged husband, businessman Victor Consunji.
In a statement shared on his Instagram Stories on Wednesday night, Nelson stressed that his only concern in the matter was the well-being of Wilson and Consunji's son Connor who is now 12-year-old.
It was on Jan. 18 when Wilson revealed on Instagram that Nelson testified in court against her, backing claims by Consunji that her social media posts caused emotional distress to their son. Consunji's petition sought a protection order to prohibit Wilson from communicating with Connor, alleging that her posts were harmful to his mental and emotional health.
She, however, revealed that the court denied the petition, affirming her right to maintain contact with her son. Wilson also shared excerpts from the court ruling, which stated there was no credible evidence that her actions caused psychological violence against Connor.
Explaining his side, Nelson wrote, "My only concern regarding this matter is the welfare of their son, who happens to be my godson. He has already experienced many changes in his life and, unfortunately, has to navigate them publicly. At his age, he is beginning to build his identity and form new connections in school and within his community, which makes these public stories potentially harmful in the long run."

Nelson revealed that Connor had privately confided in him about feeling upset over the attention his mother's social media posts had drawn.
"In a one-on-one conversation, he expressed to me how upset he has been about the social media posts his mother has made concerning him during the dispute between his parents. He specifically shared that these posts place him in an uncomfortable position, drawing unwanted attention and questions from both peers and adults- attention he neither likes nor wants," he said.
When called to testify, Nelson said he just relayed what Connor had told him.
"I had told the judge only what my godson had told me, nothing more and nothing less. This was for the express reason to have those particular posts about him stop and preserve his well-being," added Nelson.
Nelson then clarified in his statement that he had avoided taking sides in Wilson and Consunji's feud.
"For the record, whilst I know both parents, I have intentionally never gotten involved in their dispute and have no desire to. My only concern has always been my godson and his wellbeing. In line with that, to honor his wishes, I don't plan to say any more on this matter, and I would respectfully request the media to also do the same and keep his name and any reference to him out of any future articles concerning his parents. Thank you," Nelson ended.
From 2018 t0 2019, Wilson and Nelson co-hosted "Beached," a travel show on Metro Channel.
It was on Sept. 27, 2021 when Wilson announced that she and Consunji had mutually decided to part ways. Three months later, Wilson revealed she had been prevented from spending Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with their son.
Wilson disclosed on May 12, 2024 that a protection order had been issued against her, barring her from any interaction with her son, Connor, until he reached adulthood.
