The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) has announced 44 free online courses for 2025. These cover a wide range of disciplines from teaching and writing to business and leadership.
These courses are available through the open university’s MODeL (Massive Open Distance eLearning) platform, and students can take them at their own pace throughout the year.
New registration batches open every Thursday, with offerings spread across various subjects. For example, January’s courses cover disaster resilience, while some other months include niche topics in media such as video editing, which will be offered in October.
Upon completion, participants will receive e-certificates, each equivalent to 16 hours of training, which can be added to resumes. UPOU also says it plans to expand its course offerings later in the year.

JM's highest stat is probably his curious ardor to anything tech—electronics and gaming in particular. He certainly heeds utmost regard to specsheet, visuals, and rule of thirds. If creativity and wit sometimes leave JM's system, watching films, anime and a good stroll for memes are his approved therapeutic claims.
