GENERAL TRIAS CITY — Candidates in Cavite who have no opponents are expected to go on with the usual campaign to present their programs and get suggestions from every citizen at the start of campaign period on Friday.
Before the actual campaigning, most of the candidates are expected to attend a morning mass.
Among the candidates who are running unopposed are incumbent Cavite 1st District Board Member Ram Revilla who is running for vice governor, his mother, reelectionist Rep. Lani Mercado-Revilla of the second district of Cavite and reelectionist Rep Antonio Ferrer of the sixth district.
Also running unopposed are reelectionist General Trias Mayor Luis Ferrer IV for second term, reelectionist Alfonso Mayor Randy Salamat for his third term, Mayor Strike Revilla of Bacoor City for second term, Denver Chua of Cavite City for second term, Francisco "Cocoy" Mendoza of Mendez Nuñez for second term and Voltaire Ricafrente of Rosario for second term.
Brent Tolentino, youngest son of incumbent Tagaytay City Mayor Abraham "Bambol" Tolentino, is seeking fresh mandate, with his mother reelectionist Vice Mayor Agnes Tolentino and the ten candidates for city councilors, led by Micko Tolentino (son of reelectionist Sen. Francis Tolentino), Jojit Desingan̈o, Rey Espiritu, Bianca Pello, Annabelle Solis, Leo Angelo De Castro, Fatima Guadana, Jennifer Manguinao, Doroteo Marasigan Jr. and Gene Vergara.

In an interview with Mayor Ferrer, he said that they are blessed and grateful because no one is running against them.
"It's also up to the people, maybe the GenTriseños appreciate the services we are doing for the people, even though it's not perfect, but we are trying to provide for the needs of the people," said Mayor Ferrer.
Reelectionist Vice Mayor Madonna Pel of Alfonso, Joseph Legaspi of Amadeo, Rowena Mendiola of Bacoor, Jonas Labuguen of General Trias and Bam Gonzales of Rosario are also among the unopposed in the election.
Alfonso Mayor Randy Salamat said he is grateful for being the unopposed candidate in his final term.
Also unopposed are reelectionist board members Romel Enriquez, Juan Ysmael Gandia of the first district, BM Edwin Malvar and Alde Pagulayan of the second district, BM Ony Cantimbuhan and Lloyd Jaro of the third district, Aidel Belamide and Ivee Reyes of fifth district, 6th District Board Members Kerby Salazar and Morit Sison.
Mayor Chua of Cavite City said he will still go out to meet the people and present his platforms and know his constituents.
The local candidates have 45 days to campaign starting Friday, and will end on May 10. No campaign will be allowed on April 17 (Maundy Thursday), April 18 (Good Friday), May 11 (eve of the election), and May 12 (day of the election).
