MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) is appealing to recruitment and manning agencies to uphold the standards in the deployment of Filipino workers abroad.

DMW Secretary Hans Cacdac said the agencies should not cut corners or pocket money from the overseas Pinoy workers.

“Don’t throw away this very strong tradition of migration governance. You are all part of that tradition. No cutting corners, no pocketing of cash to the detriment of applicants,” Cacdac said.

Speaking during a gathering of recruitment and manning agencies for the promotion of quality management system (QMS), Cacdac said the country and the agencies would be able to further raise the standards if they recruit smart, talented, law-abiding and quality Filipino workers.

The QMS standardizes hiring, strengthen accountability and promote continuous improvement among recruitment and manning agencies.

It seeks to align the process with global standards to enhance credibility and competitiveness.
