Villanueva sponsors bill making presidential scholarships permanent

MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Joel Villanueva sponsored on Wednesday a bill seeking to make the government’s merit scholarship program permanent, saying poverty should not prevent academically gifted Filipino students from finishing their education. Senate Bill No. 2410, or the proposed Presidential Merit Scholarship Program Act, is among the education reforms identified for legislative action by
