MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte has been antagonistic against President Marcos ever since assuming office in 2022, Bataan Rep. Geraldine Roman said yesterday.
“When VP Sara assumed office, I have seen that her attitude toward President Marcos was antagonistic,” she said.
Malacañang earlier hit back at Duterte for saying she was “scammed” by her UniTeam alliance with the President.
“I’m trying to understand where VP Sara is coming from when she said the administration scammed her. Maybe she had a set of expectations that was not met when the UniTeam won (the 2022 elections),” Roman noted.
Roman recalled how former president Rodrigo Duterte demanded near-blind loyalty from state officials.
“He demanded almost blind loyalty to all parties. From the legislative, in Congress, Senate, in the House of Representatives, all. He wants all local government units to follow and support him,” she said.
