Half full or half empty? Advocates rate Marcos Year 3

Civil society organizations and the media give a glimpse of people’s satisfaction with the administration’s progress, especially as Marcos Jr. is halfway through his term

MANILA, Philippines – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will deliver his fourth State of the Nation Address on July 28. As he marks his third year in office, how well has he delivered on his promises to Filipinos?

Rappler worked with civil society organizations and the media to get a glimpse of people’s satisfaction with the administration’s progress, especially as Marcos Jr. is halfway through his term.

In the video, the Ateneo Human Rights Center, Coalition for People’s Right to Health, DAKILA, Kalikasan People’s Network for the Environment, Move As One Coalition, PressOne, Rainbow Rights, Student Council Alliance of the Philippines, and SUKI Network assessed specific promises that Marcos Jr. made over the years.

Each group, representing a specific promise, showed their rating of the administration’s performance by pouring water into a glass. The more water poured, the more progress they believed had been made in addressing that promise.
