MANILA, Philippines — Sue Ramirez might not yet be a mother, but the actress has learned a thing or two about raising a child from her experience of taking care of her nieces and nephews to a recent starrer opposite singer-songwriter Rico Blanco. 

During the recent Star Magic Spotlight presscon, Sue said parenthood requires more than simply wanting a child but a commitment. 

“Hindi siya, ‘Ah, naisip ko lang.’ Hindi siya ganun. Ang haba ng preparation na kailangan mong gawin. You really have to secure 'yung bata una sa lahat,” she said.

Sue said that although she has spent years caring for her nieces, nephews, and even dogs, she understands that motherhood is a profoundly different experience.

Her role in "Project Baby" with singer-songwriter Rico Blanco gave her a deeper appreciation of the significance of becoming a parent, as well as the lifelong commitment and responsibility that come with it. 

“Kailangan siyang pinag-iisipan at pinaghahandaan ng mabuti,” she said. 

The actress also said that it is important to have a partner who has the same vision and belief in building a family. 

“If you find a partner that is on the same page, someone who wants it with you, that’s so important to have a baby with someone who wants it with you,” she said. — Video by Philstar.com / Hannah Santos
