Skimboarding and surfboarding are two of the many water activities tourists enjoy doing on the beach.

But do you know what the difference is between the two?

According to Kuya Kim’s report on “24 Oras Weekend,” Saturday, surfboarding is often done in the deeper parts of the water while riding the ocean waves.

Meanwhile, skimboarding, or skimming, is done in the shallow parts of the waters and uses a smaller board.

Skimboarding was first done in the 1920s in Laguna Beach, California.

It was the idea of lifeguard George Griffiths and his friend, Jimmy.

Recently in Panglao, Bohol, a dog named Brad was spotted having fun in the waters with his skimboard.

He learned the skill at only eight months old, which has since become his bonding activity with his owner. —Carby Rose Basina/JCB, GMA Integrated News
