Dia Mate of the Philippines is Reina Hispanoamericana 2025!
The Caviteña beauty queen took home the second Reina Hispanoamericana crown eight years after Winwyn Marquez took home the title in 2017.
During the pageant’s question and answer portion, Dia was asked: “What values do you think are the most important to our society, and why do you think this is important?”
She answered: “I think the most important value that we should have is kindness. In my experience here in Bolivia, Latinas have shown me so much kindness and so much love even though racially I am not Latino.”
"And the most beautiful thing I've noticed is that even though we don't speak the same language, we share the same culture, same heart, and same faith in God, and I hope this shows everybody that if we use kindness we can show that we are all the same and can create a better world and a better society for us all."
But who exactly is Dia? Here are 5 things to know about her.
1. She participated in Miss Universe Philippines and Miss World Philippines in 2024
Before winning the Reina Hispanomericana 2025 title, Dia first joined the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 pageant last May, representing her hometown Cavite.
Although she didn't place in Miss Universe Philippines, this didn’t stop her from joining Miss World Philippines not long after. In July of the same year, she was crowned the Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2024 in the pageant.
The Filipina beauty queen delivered an A-game performance and brought pride to the country during the recent Reina Hispanoamericana 2025 pageant in Bolivia.
Aside from being the only second Filipina to win the crown, she also took home the Best in National Costume Award for her “Banaag” national costume.
2. She is a singer-songwriter
Aside from being a beauty queen, Dia is also a singer and songwriter. She is passionate about music and often shares her cover songs on Instagram, as well as videos of her playing a guitar.
In 2021, Dia released her debut EP, “Don’t Quote Me.” Her most recent song is “Ikaw Ang Pinili Ko,” which she released in January.
She also previously appeared in Zack Tabudlo's music video for “Nangangamba” in 2020. In case you are wondering, she was the woman Zack was chasing in the music video.
3. She is a nature lover
Dia sure is a nature lover!
When she's not slaying on stage as a beauty queen or making music, you can find her surfing the waves in La Union and Quezon, enjoying the clear waters of Palawan, or hiking with her loved ones.
In 2022, she visited Machu Picchu in the Andes Mountains of Peru. The historical citadel is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
4. She is a music therapy advocate
As a musician, Dia advocates for music as a form of therapy.
Previously, Dia performed in CRIBS Foundation in Antipolo City where she is a regular volunteer. The non-profit organization provides shelter for young girl survivors of abuse and those who have been abandoned.
Aside from performing, she also shares her love for music by teaching the girls voice and piano lessons.
5. Her boyfriend is singer-actor Juan Karlos
Dia's boyfriend is none other than fellow singer, Juan Karlos. T
The “Buwan” crooner has expressed his utmost support for Dia when she both joined Miss Universe Philippines and Miss World Philippines last year.
Recently, Dia marked Juan Karlos’s birthday with a sweet post on Instagram, calling the OPM singer her “greatest love.”
When Dia won the Reina Hispanoamericana crown on Monday (Philippine time), Juan Karlos was among the first people to congratulate Dia through a heartfelt message on social media.
