MANILA, Philippines — In celebration of International Women’s Month next week, women may avail themselves of free train and bus rides this March.

The Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange Inc. and Philippine Coast Guard are offering free rides from the Cubao terminal to SM Mall of Asia and vice versa.

The “libreng sakay” is available every Tuesday and Thursday from 5 to 9 a.m. and from 5 to 9 p.m. at Gate 10, Bay 5.

Women can also avail themselves of free rides on the Metro Rail Transit-3 on March 9 from 7 to 9 a.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m.

The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) is also offering free rides for women on the LRT-2 on March 8 from 7 to 9 a.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m.

The LRTA said the initiative is part of its continued recognition of the role of women in society.
