The flagship branch of Hamleys in the Philippines located in Bonifacio Global City
Released
MANILA, Philippines — Hamleys, the oldest and for a time the largest toy store in the world, opened a new flagship branch in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig.
The new store found at the beginning of High Street near Serendra is the second Philippine branch after the first that opened in 2014 located further down in Central Square Mall.
This second store occupies a 530 square meter space and carries over 15,000 toys led by iconic characters Hamley and Hattie Bear.
Beyond licensed products, located in the massive red-and-white space are a remote control car racetrack, LEGO Playlab to build blocks, a London double-decker bus installation, and a Barbie Zone — a boutique salon where kids can pamper themselves with nails and do-it-yourself accessories.
"The Philippines has always embraced Hamleys with so much love and this new flagship at BGC reflects that relationship growing stronger," said a spokesperson for the store in a statement.

The spokesperson also added that "Manila's vibrant and dynamic spirit, its energy and the families that fill it every day, make it the perfect home for Hamleys as we continue our mission to spread the magic of play around the world."
Hamleys was founded by William Hamley in 1760 and since 1881 has been operating mainly along Regent Street in London's West End.
A popular establishment during the early Victorian Era, the store received royal warrants from Queens Mary (wife of George V) and Elizabeth II.
There are currently five Hamleys stores in the United Kingdom — not including branches in airports — and more than 170 elsewhere around the world, including the two in the Philippines.
