BAGUIO CITY – Two people were injured and four houses were buried in a landslide during heavy rain caused by typhoon ‘’Emong’’ in Purok 2, Outlook Drive, this city, on July 25.

The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office said victims were rescued from their house and taken to a hospital.

The Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis here said that as of 9 a.m. on July 25, 43 families composed of 136 are staying in an evacuation center; two houses were totally and 15 were partially damaged, and 34 soil erosion, landslides and rockfalls, one sinkhole, and 30 fallen trees were recorded.

Mayor Benjamin Magalong said landslides are inevitable with almost a month of rain, three tropical cyclones, and highly saturated ground.

He said the CDRRMO will remain on alert for possible landslides.

A large part of this city remains brownout due to toppled power poles.
