Alexie Brooks made sure to remember her late grandmother on her birthday despite being busy with the Miss Eco International 2025 pageant.
On Instagram, the Miss Eco International Philippines 2025 shared some of her precious moments with her Lola Basing alongside a heartfelt birthday message for her.
“Lola, happy birthday. God, I miss you so much it hurts. I miss everything about you. Every day. Your voice, your presence, the way you made everything feel okay,” Alexie wrote.
“I know you’re resting now. I know you’re finally at peace. And I know somehow you’re still with me. Guiding me. Loving me from a distance I can’t reach. But the truth is... knowing you’re gone still breaks me. Every single day."
The Ilongga beauty queen expressed how much she loves her grandmother, saying that she still carries her in her heart every time.
“I love you beyond words, beyond time, beyond life. Death may have taken you, but it didn’t take the way I feel you. I still carry you in my heart, in the quiet moments, in every part of me,” Alexi said.
She also promised to keep praying for her Lola Basing, and to be good, help others, forgive, and love even when it is painful.
“I celebrate you today, Lola. I celebrate your life, your love, your light that still lives in me. I miss you. I love you deeply, endlessly, truly. Happy birthday in heaven,” Alexie said.
Alexie’s grandmother died in September 2024. The beauty queen has been loud and proud of her closeness with Lola Basing, who raised her while her mom worked as an OFW in Lebanon.
Alexie is currently in Egypt for the Miss Eco International 2025. The pageant will hold its coronation night on April 19.
