Don Lee, Lisa, and Lee Jin-wook at a table read for "Tygo"
Netflix
MANILA, Philippines — Lalisa Manoban, better known as Lisa of the girl group Blackpink, will join Korean stars Ma Dong-seok and Lee Jin-wook in a spin-off movie from Netflix's action franchise "Extraction."
The franchise's two film stars Chris Hemsworth as Australian mercenery Tyler Rake. The first movie sees him rescuing an Indian drug lord's kidnapped son in Bangladesh and the second takes him to Georgia to rescue a crime lord's family from a prison.
Netflix announced the franchise spin-off "Tygo" with a prime cast reveal and photos of a table read with Lisa, Dong-seok (more popularly known as Don Lee) and Jin-wook.
Lee's Big Punch Pictures and AGBO will produce in collaboration with Nova Film Inc. and B&C Group.
AGBO is the production company of the Russo brothers Anthony and Joe, known for their multiple Marvel Studios movies. They will produce alongside Angela Russo-Otstot, Michael Disco and Albert J. Kim.
Helming the film is Lee Sang-yong, who previously directed Ma Dong-seok in two "The Roundup" films. Actor-writer Cha Woo-jin will pen the script.
"I'm thrilled that this project, which I've been developing for years with AGBO, is finally moving into production," said Lee in a statement. "'Tygo' brings a distinctly Korean identity into the global 'Extraction' universe. We can't wait to unleash its explosive energy on audiences worldwide."

Apart from "The Roundup" action franchise, Lee is also known for starring in "Train to Busan," Marvel Studios' "Eternals," "Sense8" and "Bad Guys."
Jin-wook is a familiar face for Netflix viewers having starred in "Squid Game," "Sweet Home," "High Society," "Welcome to Wedding Hell," "Bulgasal: Immortal Souls" and most recently "Beyond the Bar."
He also starred in "Dear Hyeri," "Miss Granny," "Voice," and the 2025 films "Seven O'Clock Breakfast Club for the Brokenhearted" and "Dark Nuns."
The Korean actor said he was a fan of the franchise and called it an honor to join the universe, "I'm especially excited and grateful to be working with Don, whom I've always admired, and with Lisa as well. I'll do my very best to present a film that lives up to your expectations."
Lisa made her acting debut in Season 3 of "The White Lotus" shot in her native Thailand, which makes "Tygo" her major feature film debut.
"I'm so honored to be a part of this project and grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such incredible actors," said the artist. "Being in an action movie has always been a dream of mine, so for my film debut to be such an exciting project feels very special."
The upcoming film will see Lee portray the titular character, a former child soldier turned mercenary, embarking on a revenge mission through Korea's underworld after a mission gone wrong.
