CNN International reporter Richard Quest was baffled with the "spaghetti" wires hanging from Metro Manila posts.

On Instagram, Richard shared a video of him on a street in Mandaluyong City.

"Every time I see this, I just wonder how on earth does this work?" he said as he pointed to the posts.

"But since the lights stay on and the internet's working, this all must make sense to somebody," he added.

As he showed the posts to the camera, Richard described the intertwined cables "like one big bowl of spaghetti" and asked what one does to find one wire that's gone wrong.

"Quite extraordinary how it all works. But it works!" he said.

In May 2024, Bulacan Representative Salvador Pleyto Sr. filed a bill seeking to clear roads of dangling wires and overhead cables to prevent possible accidents these may cause.

Meanwhile, Richard is currently in the Philippines to shoot a documentary at the Masungi Georeserve in Rizal.
