The last time we saw "Daredevil" was in 2018, when the third season of the Marvel series was out on Netflix. After a seven year wait, he's back this week on Disney+ via "Daredevil: Born Again." The first two episodes are out and the show wastes little time getting the ball rolling and the action going.

Over a virtual press conference, Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil) and Vincent D'Onofrio (Wilson Fisk/Kingpin) assured reporters audiences would be getting the same Murdock and Fisk they've gotten attached to.

The first two episodes show how Murdock and Fisk seem to have this yin-yang, both-sides-of-the same coin dynamic. One is not the man he is without the other.

Both characters have not had many scenes together but there's one early on in "Born Again." Vincent D'Onofrio describes both characters as "broken men," both "trying to live in the daylight."

D'Onofrio finds the two characters only rarely being together on screen is great for the story "because it always means something, it's always either at the beginning or the end of something — or both sometimes."

Over the last 10 years, Cox and D'Onofrio have become good friends, Cox points out ironically, "The good news is that it does feel like the better friends we become, the easier it is to hate each other."

D'Onofrio agrees, "It's so true. I've fallen in love with Charlie. And the more I love him, the more I love to hate him. It's great to have this kind of relationship with your partner in crime."

While the show is called "Daredevil: Born Again," Cox clarifies, they're not doing the "Born Again" story (from the comics). "The name of the show is just a reference to coming back after so many years and, of course, an homage to Frank Miller's iconic run."

According to new showrunner Dario Scardapane, Frank Miller was actually on the set on the last day of shooting, he considers it, "one of the most amazing experiences of my creative life."

There are new situations, new ambitions, and new scores to settle in "Born Again."

Scardapane talks about the appearance of the villain, Muse: "What happens with Muse creates a ripple effect that actually goes past this season into the future." D'Onofrio interjects and describes the events Muse sets in motion as "scary, dark, and creepy."

Executive producer Aaron Moorehead, avoiding spoilers, says things happen "that would shake the faith of Matt Murdock/Daredevil in such a way that you would question everything about his place in the universe."

Not quite new but still exciting and highly anticipated, is the return of Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle aka The Punisher. It seems like even Charlie Cox is a fan of the actor, "Listen, anything that Jon Bernthal is in, I will watch."

A second season of "Daredevil: Born Again" is already set for next year.
