Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats president, Leyte 1st district Rep. Martin Romualdez and Tingog Party-list have thanked all those who helped render immediate relief efforts to the victims of the recent typhoons and floods.
“In times of crisis, public service must be immediate, coordinated, and heartfelt,” said Romualdez, House Speaker of the previous19th Congress.
“I commend the efforts of our partners in Congress and on the ground who continue to make sure that help reaches those who need it most, quickly and with dignity," he added.
The offices pf Romualdez and Tingog Party-list earlier allocated some P420 million for the benefit of 42 typhoon and flood-stricken congressional districts. The aid was coursed through the Ayuda sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP).
Meanwhile, Tingog successfully concluded five days of relief operations in response to severe flooding across Metro Manila, Rizal, and nearby provinces. The party-list was able to deliver urgent assistance to thousands of affected families.
Since July 21, Tingog has distributed more than 21,000 hot meals, along with rice, drinking water, and other essential relief items to evacuation centers and flood-affected communities in Marikina, Manila, Quezon City, Pasig, Taytay, and Rodriguez.
In many areas, volunteers navigated narrow roads and inundated communities to reach those sheltering in evacuation centers.
“Tingog will always find ways to reach our communities—whether to ease burdens, offer comfort, or simply be there,” said Tingog Part-list Rep. Yedda Romualdez. “What matters most is that people know they are not alone.”
As operations stretched across various cities and municipalities, close coordination with barangay leaders helped ensure aid was delivered swiftly and where it was most needed.
“You see the need, and you respond,” said Tingog Party-list Rep. Andrew Romualdez. “That’s always been the mindset. We’re here to help, and we’ll keep doing the work for as long as it’s needed.”
For his part, Rep. Jude Acidre, also of Tingog, underscored the human impact behind each act of service during times of news.
“When you’re handing someone a hot meal or a blanket, it’s not just about relief—it’s a way of saying, ‘we see you, and we’re here,’” he said.
