MANILA, Philippines — Incumbent Caloocan City Mayor Along Malapitan is set to secure a second term, maintaining a strong lead over former senator Sonny Trillanes, based on partial and unofficial results.

As of 11:30 p.m., Malapitan had 333,881 votes, while Trillanes trailed with 222,643, according to Commission on Elections Media Server data.

1. MALAPITAN, ALONG (NP) 333,881
2. TRILLANES, ANTONIO IV (AKSYON) 222,643
3. VILLANUEVA, DANNY (IND) 3,000
4. CAÑETE, RICHARD (IND) 2,280
5. MALUNES, RONNIE (IND) 1,969

3. LUSTRE, DANTE (IND) 5,549

Earlier surveys had projected an even wider margin, with an April 2025 Social Weather Stations poll showing Malapitan at 82% and Trillanes at 14%.

Trillanes is so far outperforming initial surveys. Despite this, current polling numbers still put Malapitan at the lead.

In 2022, Malapitan inherited the Caloocan Mayoral seat from his father, Rep. Oca Malapitan (1st District, Caloocan City). If he wins, Malapitan will be in his second term.

Meanwhile, Vice Mayor Karina Teh, Malapitan’s running mate, is also on track to retain her seat.

Rep. Oca Malapitan is expected to keep his congressional post for the 20th Congress.

In the second legislative district, former lawmaker Egay Erice is set to unseat incumbent Rep. Mitch Cajayon.

Dean Asistio is running unopposed for representative of Caloocan City’s third district.
