The Korea Tourism Organization and the Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines officially opened the “K-Beauty Glow Up!” event at SM Aura, Bonifacio Global City on Friday.
The two-beauty event runs until April 26 and aims to further promote and highlight the enthusiasm for the Korean beauty industry in the country ahead of the 2025 K-Beauty Festival in South Korea this June.
At the event, visitors have the chance to partake in color analysis, skin analysis, and hair and make-up styling offered by Korean brands the Bom and Jenny House.
Samples and products for sale from skincare brands Amore Pacific, Misé-en-Scene, and Laneige were also featured.
The launch was attended by South Korean Ambassador to the Philippines Lee Sang Hwa and Department of Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco.
“We are here today, not just to celebrate cosmetics and skincare… As Korean ambassador, I’m proud to say [that] the Philippines leads the world in Korean beauty enthusiasm. This strong experience is why we are here today,” shared Ambassador Lee.
“We want you to experience a curated preview of Korea’s beauty industry, from personal color analysis and trendy hair styling to exclusive product sampling,” he added.
Frasco, on the other hand, emphasized the values that the Korean beauty industry brings to the Philippines.
“What makes K-beauty truly special is not just [the] products or the technology, but the deeper values behind them. Self-care, wellness, creativity, and confidence,” she said.
“K-Beauty is not just about perfection, it’s about honoring who you are, finding joy in skin, and expressing yourself with pride with a little help with products and technology that make one’s beauty glow just a little brighter. I can attest to this myself… That is why this event resonates so deeply with very many Filipinos,” she added.
Actress and former Korean tourism honorary ambassador Kyline Alcantara was also present at the launch to discuss her experiences during the 2024 K-Beauty Festival in South Korea.
