BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya — Giving a chance for Novo Vizcayanos to fully participate in the 16th Grand Ammungan Festival this year, Gov. Jose Gambito has announced the suspension of work in all offices of the provincial and municipal government on Monday, May 26.

Gambito said the suspension is also extended to public and private schools at all levels to give residents a one-day rest after the weeklong festivities and the 186th Foundation Day celebration of the province on Saturday.

However, work in national government agencies and private institutions within the province will be at the discretion of their respective heads.

The public is advised to monitor official channels for further announcements and guidelines regarding the suspension of work and classes.

The festival, which kicked off on May 19, will culminate on May 24.

Marichelle Costales, GAF director-general, said the festival showcases the local products of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the province at the "Gawang Vizcayano" trade fair located at the provincial capitol grounds.

"This is part of our assistance to our MSMEs to sustain and increase their gains and further promote their products to the international market," Costales said.

Costales said the festival has become an effective promotional venue for MSMEs to earn higher income through local and international markets.

Based on the report from the Provincial Cooperative and Enterprises Development Office, MSMEs in the province raked in more than P1.5 million in sales in the first four days of the trade fair.

Among the products showcased at the trade fair are furniture, fruit and vegetables, handicrafts, ornamental plants, buko pie, fruit chips, chocolate, coffee, herbal, fruit wine, pineapple ice cream and assorted flavors of Vizcaya Piyaya products.
