MANILA, Philippines — Actress Rica Peralejo is considering leaving the Philippines, saying she has become increasingly disheartened by what she described as the unfair treatment of Filipinos who strive to live honestly.

In a social media post, Rica admitted that while she had previously entertained the idea of moving abroad, she had never felt the urgency to do so until now.

“I have never felt the real urgency to leave the Philippines until now. I always entertained the thought but it never escalated to an urgency. Ngayon talaga ayoko na,” she wrote.

The actress said she was already making plans to leave, citing her frustration with what she described as a system that fails to treat people fairly.

“I am making plans kasi 'yung bastusan is so painful to me. I am so heartbroken for many of my kababayans na tapat at lumalaban ng patas pero hindi patas eh. Hindi talaga. Hindi na nga madali, hindi pa tapat,” she said.

Rica also expressed anger over the situation, admitting that her feelings toward those she holds responsible had become increasingly intense.

“Hate is a strong word but I think I’m getting there,” she added.

In a separate message, Rica thanked those who had shared their decisions to leave the country, saying she felt a degree of envy but was also happy for them.

“MARAMING SALAMAT SA NAGBABAHAGI NG MAGANDANG DESISYON NILANG LUMISAN NG PILIPINAS DITO. May slight inggit ako sa inyo. More than that, happiness,” she wrote.

She also expressed hope that more Filipinos would have the option to seek opportunities elsewhere, saying no one deserved to live under a system they considered unfair.

“And prayer na sana lahat may ganitong option kasi no one deserves this kind system. Ay sorry meron pala — 'yung mga may gusto nito. They deserve this,” she added.

Rica has yet to disclose further details about her plans to leave the Philippines, including when she might move or where she intends to go.
