'Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse' announces 2027 premiere

The next Spider-Verse movie won't be here for another two years.

On the official pages of "Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse," it was announced that the sequel film is slated for a June 4, 2027 release date.

During this year's CinemaCon, directors Bob Persichetti and Justin K Thompson, and producer Phil Lord said they needed to "take the time to make sure we got it just right."

The upcoming third film in the franchise is meant to be a "massive finale," they added.

"Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" kicked off the trilogy in 2018, followed by "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" in 2023.

Based on Marvel Comics' characters, the story follows Miles Morales, a teenager in an alternate universe, who is bitten by a radioactive spider.
