MANILA, Philippines —  The Social Security Commission (SSC) has named commissioner Victor Limlingan as its nominee for election to the board of the Lopez Group’s First Philippine Holdings Corp. (FPH).

Limlingan will fill the vacancy created by the recent resignation of commissioner Diana Pardo-Aguilar, following changes in the SSC’s board seat assignments.

FPH said it would discuss Limlingan’s nomination at the company’s next board meeting.

Limlingan was appointed as an SSC member, representing the employers’ group, in November 2024.

He has a diverse career in finance, investment, public service and entrepreneurship.

Limlingan plays a crucial role in governing the Social Security System administration through policymaking, policy direction and monitoring and oversight of management actions.

FPH is a holding company with investments in power generation, energy solutions, residential and commercial real estate, industrial real estate and construction and energy services.

It is part of Lopez Group of companies, with Lopez Inc. serving as its ultimate parent firm.

Last week, FPH’s board approved reinstating the corporation’s common share buyback program from Oct. 1, 2026 to Sept. 30, 2028, with an allocation of P5 billion.

Given the undervaluation of FPH shares, FPH president and chief operating officer Francis Giles Puno said the company believes that the best way forward is to continue the buyback program.
