MANILA, Philippines — Warner Bros. Pictures has unveiled plans for "Superman World Tour," with the film's stars and creative team set to visit major cities around the world including a highly anticipated stop in Manila on June 19.
"From Metropolis to a sky near you, #LookUp to a super summer with our #Superman crew," read the studio's official announcement.
The cast also released a video message to fans saying, "Citizens of Metropolis and the world, Superman is coming to a city near you. But don't worry, you're not in danger. We're coming to cities all over the world for the 'Superman' global tour. Just look up and we will see you soon."
The upcoming film stars David Corenswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. James Gunn — known for his work on "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "The Suicide Squad" — is at the helm, serving as writer, director, and co-producer. Gunn's vision kicks off the first chapter of the new DC Universe (DCU), reimagining the iconic hero with a balance of "epic action, humor and heart," and presenting a Superman "driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind."
Following Manila, the world tour will make stops in Rio de Janeiro (June 23), London (July 2), Paris (July 4), Los Angeles (July 7), New York (July 9), and Beijing (July 10).
