LUNA, Apayao — Two men died as the jeepney they were riding in fell off a 10-meter ravine along a curved road in Guinaang, Conner, Apayao, on Monday morning, police said on Tuesday.

Police Senior Staff Sgt. Jackson Makin, Conner police investigator, identified the fatalities only as Mike, 30, and Noli, 42, both of Barangay Andarayan South, Solana, Cagayan.

Police said the two victims died instantly as their heads were crushed, while three others, including the driver, were confined at the Conner District Hospital.

The driver said their jeepney, which was laden with 18 hogs and four other occupants, was on its way to Kabugao in Apayao to deliver swine.

After negotiating a curved and ascent portion of the road, the jeepney encountered mechanical trouble in their downhill run, resulting in the jeepney overturning and eventually falling off a 10-meter ravine.
