MANILA, Philippines — Several local government units have announced class suspensions for Thursday, August 6, due to the effects of Tropical Storm Maymay (international name: Kujira) and the enhanced southwest monsoon.

PAGASA said in its 5 p.m. bulletin Wednesday that Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 remains hoisted over eight areas, with Maymay expected to make landfall over the Ilocos Norte–Ilocos Sur–La Union area by Wednesday night or early Thursday.

National Capital Region

• Las Piñas City – All levels, public and private
• Marikina City – All levels, public and private
• Pateros – Preschool to Senior High School, public and private; classes shifted to Alternative Delivery Mode

Cordillera Administrative Region

• Abra – All levels, public and private
• Benguet – All levels, public and private
• Baguio City – Preschool to Senior High School, public and private; classes shifted to Alternative Delivery Mode

Region I (Ilocos Region)
