MANILA, Philippines — "Fallout" stars Ella Purnell and Walton Goggins praised the show's worldbuilding and how it manages to bring video games to bigger screens.

Based on the popular video game of the same name, "Fallout" is set in post-apocalypic United States following a nuclear holocaust where survivors navigate what remains in the wasteland.

The series' first season received multiple Emmy nominations — mostly in technical categories — including Outstanding Drama Series.

Walton, Ella, and their co-star Aaron Moten sat down with Philstar.com during a media junket in Sydney, Australia, and discussed how the show's immersive experience continues entering its second season.

Ella began by pointing out viewers do not need to have played any of the games dating back to 1997 in order to enjoy the "Fallout" series.

"But also, what an incredible thing to be in a world where we can now adapt video games into films and TV," Ella continued.

She noted the difficult process the production had to face because during production. He co-star, Moten, quipped about throwing one's controller at the screen is no longer an option.

The actress credited showrunners Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet, as well as executive producer Jonathan Nolan, for giving viewers the experience of resonating with any of the series' characters — be it an optimist like Ella's Lucy or a mainstay like Walton's The Ghoul.

"There is so much within [over] 20 years of hundreds and hundreds of people building this incredible, beautiful game with so many characters, factions, costumes, and props, how lucky are we to borrow from that world that's already been established," Ella ended.

Walton chipped in to also praise Jonathan, Graham, Geneva, and production designer Howard Cummings as expert filmmakers, "This is an epic story that we're telling, everyone is on board to tell that story cinematically."

He noted that while the "Fallout" games belong to the global community, the team made sure the show's original canon was as cinematic as possible where it cannot be viewed anywhere else.

"Dare I say, with the utmost humility, it's hard to find this s**t in movies, you know what I mean?" Walton ended. "That's what we've been given the opportunity to participate in, and I tell you, we're grateful for it."

The first season of "Fallout" dropped in full last year, but for the second season, Amazon Prime Video will have an episodic release beginning December 17.
