The game is afoot, for the third time!
Netflix has announced that they are now starting their production for the third part of the “Enola Holmes” film series starring Millie Bobby Brown.
According to an article released by Netflix Tudum, the third movie will follow Holmes as she tackles another case in the island nation of Malta.
“As the private detective juggles a new case and the next stages of her relationship with Tewkesbury, the game is truly afoot,” it said.
Brown will be reprising her role as the titular Enola Holmes, the equally-brilliant little sister of renowned detective Sherlock Holmes.
Other than Brown, Louis Partridge will also return as Lord Tewkesbury, who had recently struck up a relationship with Holmes after joining her for another mission in the second movie.
In a video posted by the official Enola Holmes page on Instagram, Brown and Partridge were seen acting as their characters in the middle of a fight.
Tewkesbury was shown chasing Holmes around with flowers in apology for “being late” for the first day of shooting.
“It was an error in time management, Enola… I’m sorry, I know it was an important day… Dare I say, you may be overreacting,” Tewkesbury said.
Holmes replied, “Out of all the days, you choose today to be late. What are you, a lord or something?... Overreacting, did I overreact when your grandmother tried to shoot you? Nope! I didn’t!”
Henry Cavill and Helena Bonham-Carter will also be reprising their roles as Sherlock Holmes and Eudoria Holmes, respectively.
Netflix has yet to announce a date for the release of said film.
“Enola Holmes” is based off of a series of novels by Nancy Springer, which followed the titular character as she solves crimes as a private detective like her brother, renowned detective Sherlock Holmes.
The first film in 2020 narrated the story of Enola as she solves the attempted murder of Tewkesbury as she hides from her brothers and searches for her missing mother, while the second film in 2022 followed Enola’s attempts to uncover the perpetrators behind a deadly epidemic at a match factory.
