Ruru Madrid went to Batangas for a long weekend vacation with his girlfriend Bianca Umali and reflected on the importance of rest.
Sharing an Instagram Reel of themselves unwinding at a resort, the Kapuso Primetime Action Star said, “When you give so much of yourself to your work, you also need to give yourself time to breathe.”
“Dahil ang pahinga, hindi ‘yan pagtakas sa ginagawa mo—ito ang [pagbalik] ng sigla, para mas kaya mong ipagpatuloy ang mahal mong ginagawa," he added.
Ruru said the trip happened after days-long of taping for “Lolong: Pangil ng Maynila” and “the moment we got there, everything changed. Did some yoga. Got fresh air. Slowed down for real.”
According to Ruru, they did not use their phones that much and lived in the moment.
“Kumain ng masarap, tumawa ng malakas, at nabuhay nang simple. I wasn’t thinking about time or to-do lists. I was just there—enjoying life,” Ruru said.
“And in that stillness, I felt something I didn’t know I was missing—nahanap ko muli ang sarili ko,” he added.
Ruru said the trip made him, “Grateful. Recharged. Ready.”
“Now I’m heading back to work with a clear head and a full heart,” he said.
Ruru just sustained a hamstring injury while taping “Lolong.”
As he returned to set, Ruru is thankful to the cast and crew that adjusted to his injury.
“Lolong: Pangil ng Maynila” follows the title character, played by Ruru Madrid, who loses his powers, leaves his loved ones, and moves to Manila to have a fresh start. There, he encounters some action-packed adventures.
It airs weeknights after “24 Oras” on GMA Prime.
